With more than 60 years’ experience manufacturing adhesives, Productos Colcar is a company specialised in manufacturing of hotmelt adhesives.
Since our beginnings back in 1955, Productos Colcar has grown from a small traditional business to become European benchmark. However, we work every day to gain recognition in sectors where we are present, based on our values of quality and service, and maintaining a policy of leadership that allows us to continue expanding globally.
Productos Colcar certifies to ISO standards. Satisfaction of our customers and protection of the environment are two of our priority objectives, which are reflected in our ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015 certificates, respectively.
The OEKO-TEX Certificate verifies the absence of harmful substances in textiles and in the manufacturing stages of a certain product. In the case of mattresses, OEKO-TEX guarantees that hot melt adhesives used in their manufacture are harmless to health. One more achievement that helps us to continue working for and with our customers, taking care, of course, of our environment and offering them tailor-made industrial hotmelt adhesives!
In September 2009, we decided to move to Rubí (Barcelona), to more modern facilities with more square metres than those we had in Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), to expand our production capacity and offer a better service to our customers. In this new space we have increased the number of reactors, expanded and improved the dosing lines, installed new boilers, optimised refrigeration equipment and implemented latest technology machines, which has doubled our productivity for each production shift. In 2015, new refrigeration equipment was installed to cool the adhesives with three times the power of the previous equipment. In 2016 a new, more accurate and efficient sack packaging machine was installed, and new forklifts were purchased. At the beginning of 2017 we opened a new warehouse next to our plant in Rubí (Barcelona), to provide a better logistics service to our customers with a substantial increase in the square metres of storage. All this to improve the quality of our products and also the productivity to offer a better service to our customers.
All these improvements allow us to increase our production of industrial adhesives at any time necessary and so we can have a faster response to be able to give a better service to our customers.
Productos Colcar S.L. has gone from being a 100% national company to exporting more than 40% of our production.
We currently have more than 10,000 customers in Spain, Portugal, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy, Costa Rica, Cuba, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and South Africa.
Currently we have established contacts with new distributors to export to countries such as Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Slovenia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Canada, China and Mexico.
